Realistic Wing - UPDATE 01

Here's my test wing w/cover feather patterns (currently poster-board, to be replaced with fabric ) and a spare piece of faux fur to hide where my arm would be. Not sure if I like the results - the fur is off-white, so maybe that's what's bugging me.

Any thoughts on a different material that will cover my arm but still give the fuzzy/smooth wing-top impression? I do not relish the thought of cutting out dozens of tiny fabric feathers & sewing them to a sleeve.

Maybe shorter-hair fur w/painted on details?
