Finished compiling all my current notes about the WIP design for my arm-cover tutorial, so yay progress! :la: Check it out for inspiration if you're stuck.

My next goal is a white pair of swan-shaped wings & a lighter version of my raven ones, will be revisiting the arm-cover then and actually building it to test my designs (and get better photos of the process).

After that? COMMISSIONS... :crazy

Do you know this cosplayer? EDIT: Well, now I do! Thanks jay-fruit~

This was brought to my attention by another tutorial follower, a "mechanical" Zapdos from San Japan 6 cosplayed by demonikangel1037 on tumblr - go shower her with praise!
Reach for the stars ...
Everything but my shoes and gloves, where crafted by hand or otherwise altered (i bought some pants and a shirt but cut them and glued things and yeah :P )).

The costume itself took about half a month, its mostly felt, sewing, hot glue and and a bunch of imagination :D

The wings are made out of foam board and poster board. Each feathers is glued/sewn to a metal wire, which either was attached to an alligator clip, and then to a long elastic band, OR was bent in curved, so that it would “hook” around a bolt. The bolt was attached to my gloves, and the elastic band was attached to the bolt. The opposite end of the elastic was sewn to a harness. I sewed a fishing wire to the first feather on each wing, through each primary feather (heavy duty sewing instead of thread). The feathers would then pivot on the bolt when i pulled the first feather.

Also: It took around a month and a half to make and it took 10 spray paint cans to paint the wings. They weren’t very heavy, just difficult to hold poses for longer periods for pictures xD

I like how they used those arm loops to keep the wing in-line with the arm, and the spikey felt style of the whole costume makes the arm-to-wing transition very well done.

All this needs is some LED’s or strobes and they’d be set to steal the stage. Or a rave. SMILEY RAVE

Keep on truckin'~
